Distribution: Sub-Saharan Africa except for Central Africa's tropical forest

 

Habitat: Savannah, grasslands and arid deserts

 

Threats: Poaching, ivory trade, habitat loss and human-elephant conflict

 

Wild Fact I: An adult African Savannah Elephant can drink up to 50 gallons of water every day

Wild Fact II: An African  Elephants trunk can lift objects of more than 180 kg
