Lifespan: 25-30 years

 

Distribution: Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia

 

Habitat: Semi arid grasslands and bush lands, hill and stony deserts

 

Threats: Agricultural developments, competition for Grazing (with livestock) and restricted access to water supplies

 

Wild Fact I: Somali Wild Ass can reach speeds of up to 48km/hr

 

Wild Fact II: Somali Wild Ass have horizontal black stripes on their legs resembling a Zebra
